How a donation is handled

  1. You choose a fundraiser and an amount. The Trust's server creates a Razorpay order for exactly that amount in INR.
  2. Razorpay collects the payment. Card, UPI and bank details go to Razorpay only. This site never sees them.
  3. The server verifies the payment. Razorpay's signature is checked before the donation is recorded, and Razorpay also notifies the server directly so nothing is lost if your browser closes.
  4. The total updates and you get a receipt. The fundraiser page recounts from confirmed payments; your receipt page can be downloaded straight away.
  5. Funds settle to the Trust's bank account. Razorpay settles confirmed payments to the Trust's account under its settlement schedule. The Trust does not deduct a platform fee; Razorpay's gateway charges apply.
  6. The Trust reports back. Updates, photographs and documents are posted on the fundraiser page as the work progresses.
